Mushroom Pastry
Ingredients :
½ lb Oyster mushrooms
1 med. Onion
1 pkg Crescent rolls (8 rolls)
1 pkg Cream cheese (8 ounce)
2 tbsp Butter (can use oil or butter alternative)
2 cloves Garlic minced
Salt and pepper to taste
(Additional seasoning to preference. We like using parsley, thyme, rosemary, etc..)
Step 1:
Set cream cheese out to soften. Preheat the oven to 375. Slice mushrooms and onion into ¼ in. thick strips. Melt butter in a saucepan set at medium high heat. Once melted add mushrooms, onions, and garlic to the pan.
Step 2:
Add a pinch of salt and pepper to the mushrooms. Cook mushrooms until all the water has been cooked out of them and evaporated. This should take roughly 15 to 20 minutes depending on moisture content.
Step 3:
Once the mushrooms are fully cooked combine them with the cream cheese in a mixing bowl until fully incorporated.
Step 4:
Unroll crescent dough into separate triangles. Place a spoonful of mushroom mixture in the center of the wide end of the dough. Roll triangles starting at the wide end and seal all edges so none of the mixture is showing. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Step 5:
Bake for 9-12 minutes until golden brown.
Rolls can be served as is or paired with your choice of sauce or gravy.
